OUR MISSION:
"Founded by an entertainer, teacher, and health educator, B & A Entertainment Services, Inc. is committed to promoting healthier communities by providing services and programs to the economically disadvantaged targeting minorities with programs that include community health and wellness, prevention, education and collaboration for individuals, businesses and families in need."
Our health and wellness vision is to improve family life in Clark County, Nevada with programs that align with “Healthy People 2030” developed by the Department of Health and Human Services:
We collaborate with local Southern Nevada community organizations in providing services to under-privileged youth, adults, and families. We believe that our target audience needs to be nurtured and supported in all areas of development…personal, social, economical, and spiritual. One of our major collaborators is "Bradford Family Reunion," a local charity with similar goals.
Organized in 2010 and incorporated in the state of Nevada on May 22, 2013, B & A is a volunteer-driven, non-profit, grassroots organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Our major areas of focus are:
1) Community Development and Wellness
2) Breast Cancer Education & Awareness
3) Music Career Development and Mentoring
4) Youth and Family Services.
Each division is supervised by a volunteer Program Director and a volunteer planning committee.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND WELLNESS
Our goal is to provide information and/or education to individuals, businesses, families, minorities, and communities that-encourage family unity, community commitment, and traditional spirituality that make positive contributions to their health, social and financial status. Health and Wellness is also the promotion of healthy ideas and concepts to motivate individuals to adopt healthy behaviors, socially, mentally and physically. For small nonprofits, we provide training to assist them in becoming productive community entities.
BREAST CANCER
Our breast cancer goal conforms to that of Heathy People 2030: To reduce the number of illnesses, disability, and death caused by breast cancer by reducing the number of late-stage breast cancers and increasing the number of women who participate in early detection practices and breast self-awareness. We believe in education, awareness and survivor support, especially in low-income, African-American and high-risk communities.
Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the United States. Healthy People 2030 focuses on promoting evidence-based cancer screening and prevention strategies — and on improving care and survivorship for people with cancer.
INDIVIUDAL AND CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT
Our mission is to provide guidance, leading-edge resources, engaging connections, and professional development activities and services to help individuals and companies reach their goals and objectives. Our services are directed at strengthening the skills and capabilities of the community at large through training, volunteerism and mentoring.
YOUTH AND FAMILY ACTIVITIES
We believe that youth mentoring and development is the key to a healthy community. They are indeed our future. We also believe that working within the entire family unit helps to grow stronger communities. Our objective is to provide mentoring, charitable services and activities to improve the level of engagement of young people with family, nutrition, education, training, and healthy relationships.
We participate in and invite our families and community organizations to participate in a myriad of workshops, health fairs, and educational programs.
GRANT-WRITING CLASSES: In 2018, we implemented classes in grant-writing for local non-profits who expressed a great need for learning the basic elements of writing and submitting grant proposals.
NONPROFIT CLASSES: We provide training to individuals and organizations informing and managing a nonprofit. We interrupted training in 2020 due to covid, but we can do personalized Zoom classes.
VOLUNTEERISM: We encourage individuals and corporations to volunteer and collaborate with us to develop their skills, education and knowledge.
THE MUSIC CLOSET
Attention Families, Businesses & Community!!!
To accomplish our mission and goals of nurturing and supporting young people, we want to help cultivate the next upcoming crop of young artists by providing Musical Instruments to them as a donation. Many children don’t participate in school bands because they can’t afford an instrument or there is a shortage of instruments available for loan.
We are in the process of accumulating various instruments use. We only want usable items, not broken ones. Interested families who need instruments can contact Anita Cook at (702) 844-3951. Instruments are meant to be played, so if yours isn't getting enough love and attention, you can donate it to B & A Entertainment Services and support our mission to provide musical opportunities for under-privileged youth. We accept instruments (string, wind, brass, percussion, etc.) in playing condition. Your donation is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Please consult your tax advisor to determine the specific deduction to which you are entitled.
