OUR MISSION & HISTORY:

"Founded by an entertainer, teacher, and health educator, B & A Entertainment Services, Inc. is committed to promoting healthier communities by providing services and programs to the economically disadvantaged targeting minorities with programs that include community health and wellness, prevention, education and collaboration for individuals, businesses and families in need. The "B" stands for Ballard and the "A" stand for Aubrey. W. Cheryl Ballard and George Aubrey originally formed a For-Profit: "B & A Entertainment, Inc."  Later they decided that a non-profit would be appropriate for all the charitable programs Cheryl was implementing. Hence, the "Services" was added to the B & A" name and we were incorporated on May 22, 2013.

Our health and wellness vision is to improve family life in Clark County, Nevada with programs that align with “Healthy People 2030” developed by the Department of Health and Human Services:

We collaborate with Nevada Cancer Coaltion, the R.E.D Rose Program, The Women's Health Connection, ThriveNV, Archwell Health, The U.S. Marine Reserve, faith-based institutions, and local Southern Nevada community organizations in providing services to under-privileged adults and youth. We believe that our target audience needs to be nurtured and supported in all areas of development…personal, social, economical, and spiritual.

Organized in 2010 and incorporated in the state of Nevada on May 22, 2013, B & A is a volunteer-driven, non-profit, grassroots organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Our major areas of focus are:

1) Community Development and Wellness

2) Breast Cancer Education & Awareness

3) Corporate educational and development

4) Youth and Family Services.

Each division is supervised by a volunteer Program Director and a volunteer planning committee.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS and ADMINISTRATION

Our Board of Directors is the governing body of the organizations. The Directors are all volunteers and follow the basic "duty of obedience", and fiscal compliance by following all federal, state and local laws. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND WELLNESS

Our goal is to provide information and/or education to individuals, businesses, families, minorities, and communities that-encourage family unity, community commitment, and traditional spirituality that make positive contributions to their health, social and financial status. Health and Wellness is also the promotion of healthy ideas and concepts to motivate individuals to adopt healthy behaviors, socially, mentally and physically. For small nonprofits, we provide training to assist them in becoming productive community entities.

BREAST CANCER

We have received grants from THE NEVADA CANCER COALITION AND THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH to implement our breast health interventions and outreach. We are also supported by local hotels and businesses. Our breast cancer goal conforms to that of Heathy People 2030: To reduce the number of illnesses, disability, and death caused by breast cancer by reducing the number of late-stage breast cancers and increasing the number of women who participate in early detection practices and breast self-awareness. We believe in education, awareness and survivor support, especially in low-income, African-American and high-risk communities.  Go to our breast cancer section for more information.

We received the 2024 Health Equity Award from the Nevada Cancer Coalition and Congressional Recognition from Senator Jacky Rosen for our work in underserved communities.
