SAVING LIVES AND BUILDING BETTER COMMUNITIES

If you are considering joining the millions of Americans that generously give their time to help make this world a better place, then we encourage you to join us in providing meaningful services and programs to the Greater Las Vegas community and Clark County.  It is hard to imagine where the philanthropic community would be today if it wasn't for the help of volunteers who perform a variety of tasks for charities.

A volunteer is a person who performs a service willingly and without pay.  A volunteer is not an employee and has no legal obligation to the organization for which he/she volunteers. We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who do not profit financially from any funds donated to the organization.

We do not have any paid staff or employees. All of our programs are planned and implemented by volunteers. They are well trained and greatly appreciated.

Benefits of volunteering

  1. Volunteering connects you to others.

  2. Volunteering can advance your career.

  3. Volunteering brings fun and fulfilling to your life.

  4. Volunteering is good for your body and mind

It is important that when you decide to become a volunteer you are making a personal commitment to be there for the organization. Volunteers that show up late, cancel at the last minute and produce limited results encumber our charity, costing us money and preventing us from fulfilling our mission. A reliable volunteer with a strong work ethic can go a long way towards helping any charity meet its goals.

Volunteer Recognition

B & A is a Certifying Organization for the President's Volunteer Service Award (PVSA). We have been granted authority through an application and review process to give out the PVSA to volunteers based on your hours of service.

In 2003, George Bush founded the President of the United States' Council on Service to recognize the important role of volunteers in America’s strength and national identity. This award honors individuals whose service positively impacts communities in every corner of the nation and inspires those around them to take action, too.

We hold regular volunteer appreciation functions, handing out awards, serving great food and having lots of fun.  It’s a way to give back to the community, and it helps fulfill a need, and develops new, sometime lasting, relationships.

Led by the AmeriCorps and managed in partnership with Points of Light, this program allows Certifying Organizations to recognize their most exceptional volunteers.
